Chapter 5 Basic Ethics for Officers and Employees

Code of Conduct for Partners

KEM Tech (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”) Partner Code of Conduct stipulates the basic requirements for partners who supply products and services to the Company, and was established to build a sustainable supply chain. The Company requires partners to continuously strive to protect the environment, establish a safe work environment, respect the human rights of employees, and operate the company ethically.
This code includes the code of conduct that must be observed as a partner of our company, and partners must comply with this code.

Partners must comply with the following code of conduct.

1. Human Rights and Labor

  • There shall be no discrimination in hiring, compensation, education, etc. due to gender, age, nationality, race, religion, etc.
  • Lawful work and rights shall be guaranteed in accordance with laws and regulations, and forced labor and child labor shall be prohibited.
  • The human rights of workers shall be respected, and inhumane treatment such as sexual harassment, violence, and verbal abuse shall not be committed.
  • In response to requests from employees or employee representatives, employees shall faithfully communicate with management without fear of discrimination, retaliation, or threats.

2. Environmental Protection

  • You must comply with the environmental laws and regulations of the country where you are doing business, and obtain and maintain all environmental permits necessary for business operations.
  • To mitigate the environmental impact of business operations, it is recommended to operate an environmental management system (such as ISO 14001 standards) consisting of organization, planning, procedures, and performance inspections.
  • To prevent environmental pollution and reduce resource and energy use, you must continuously conduct activities such as improving production processes, improving facility efficiency, using alternative raw materials, and recycling and reuse.
  • To manage hazardous chemicals safely, establish a management system for purchase, use, disposal, and recycling.

3. Ethical Management

  • Maintain integrity in all corporate activities and comply with all laws and regulations related to fair trade.
  • Personal information must be protected at a reasonable level, all intellectual property rights owned by the company and business partners must be respected, and appropriate measures must be taken to protect related intellectual property rights.
  • A policy must be established not to use raw materials obtained through illegal and unethical methods, and a conflict minerals clause must be included in the relevant policy.

4. Safety and Health

  • To ensure the safety of employees, a safety management system is established in accordance with relevant laws and regulations, and efforts are made to prevent accidents.
  • Personal protective equipment is provided when workers are at risk of being exposed to harmful or safety hazards.
  • In order to prevent safety accidents due to the use of harmful or dangerous machines, equipment, and facilities in the workplace, regular safety inspections must be conducted, and safety devices, etc. must be installed and managed.

5. Management System

  • Establish regulations and systems for human rights and labor, environmental protection, ethical management, safety and health with the approval of management, and regularly inspect the operating status.
  • Provide education so that workers can review and comply with this Code of Conduct.
  • Relevant information that can confirm compliance and the level of implementation must be provided during a written inspection or on-site visit conducted by the company or a third party designated by the company regarding compliance with this Code of Conduct.
  • If any violations or inappropriate content are identified through the above written inspection or on-site visit, efforts must be made to establish and implement an improvement plan.

Cyber Whistleblowing Center

1. In order to realize ethical management, the "Cyber Whistleblowing Center" is operated within the Ethical Management section of the company website, where not only executives and employees but also customers, partners, and all stakeholders can freely express suggestions, criticisms, and opinions on various corrupt practices and unreasonable systems.

2. The contents submitted to the "Cyber Whistleblowing Center" will be verified and investigated by the Ethical Management Department, and to ensure that whistleblowers can safely report any issues, all reports and information about the whistleblower will be handled securely and kept confidential.
